Direct Support Professional - Sumner area

POSITION: Direct Support Professional (Life Skills Coach (LSC)) and Service Support Specialist positions in Sumner, Iowa areas.

As a Life Skills Coach (LSC-1) you'll provide crucial direct care services for deserving dependent adults. You will help our clients achieve their selected goals by performing various services that are client-focused and client-driven. Our staff provide empathy and respect to individuals while working in a team dynamic to ensure the best possible care. Assisting the clients to make progress towards their overall goal is the ultimate reward!

Our Service Support Specialist positions, when available, involve additional duties of budgeting and appointment scheduling. Experience as an LSC-1 preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide direct support to individuals in the New Hampton/Fredericksburg/Sumner area, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) and caregiving tasks.
- Utilize strong communication skills to effectively interact with individuals, their families, and other team members.
- Implement behavior management techniques to support individuals, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and social workers to coordinate care plans and ensure holistic support.
- Assist with medication administration and data collection as needed.
- Drive individuals to appointments and activities, providing safe and reliable transportation.
- Maintain a high standard of care and professionalism in all interactions, upholding the values of the organization and promoting a positive work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be 18 in age
• High School Diploma
• Favorable driving record
• Full range of body motion, manual dexterity and normal range of vision and hearing
• Pass a background check, physical, TB test, & drug screen

SCHEDULE OPTIONS:

• LSC-1, Full-time (with Benefits): Dayshift position for Sumner, Iowa area. 30-40 hours per week. Includes every other weekend (see differentials below). Around 180 days off each year! Overtime available on occasion.
• LSC-1, Full-time (with Benefits): Evening/Night Shift position for Sumner, Iowa area. 30-40 hours per week. Includes every other weekend (see differentials below). Around 180 days off each year! Overtime available on occasion.
• Fill-in: Must work at least 16 hours per month (but no more than 29 hours per week on the average). Great for those wanting a flexible second job or to work around a busy schedule! No benefits.

WAGES & DIFFERENTIALS

• From $15.00/hour, plus a host of ways to earn additional pay (see below)!
• Credit for any previous experience! $0.15/year. Example: 5 years experience=$0.75/hr.
• $2.00 for bachelor's in human services, psychology, criminology, social work, sociology or other related degrees.
• $0.50 for associate in human services, psychology, criminology, social work, sociology or other related degrees.
• $0.50/hr after 6pm.
• $1.00/hr during weekends.
• $0.25/hr after successful completion of 90-day introductory training period.
• $2.00/hr for Service Support Specialist positions.
