Job Summary:
Under general direction, perform general preventative maintenance and simple repairs on manufacturing machines and mechanical equipment.
Job Description:
- Performs maintenance service and repairs.
- Repairs or replaces defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
- Diagnoses mechanical problems and determines how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.
- Inspects drives, motors, and belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, or performs other maintenance actions, following checklists.
- Inspects, operates, and tests machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
- Provides work leadership for lower level maintenance mechanics through assignment of work.
- Provides technical guidance and review of assignment progress. May involve repair of electrical systems.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; 8 years of related experience.
- Journeyman's card or technical diploma is nice-to-have
- Expert in machine/tool repair and maintenance (sheet metal fabrication, rotary presses, punch presses, press brakes).
- Strong troubleshooting skills with PLC controls, computer-controlled equipment, and electrical systems.
- Proficient in reading electrical prints and interpreting blueprints/drawings.
- Ability to assess and improve solutions and approaches.
- Provide in-house support for controls, automation, and machine maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and repair machines, implement control fixes, and drive improvements.
