Role: Security Architect
Location: Austin, Tx 78746 - hybrid 3x a week
Duration: 6 month Contract to Hire
Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the U.S.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Security Architect with expertise in Azure, Zero Trust Architecture, and enterprise security within the financial sector. The role involves designing security frameworks, performing risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with security policies.
- Conduct security architecture assessments for applications and infrastructure
- Develop and maintain security guidelines, artifacts, and best practices
- Perform security risk assessments for internal applications and new technologies
- Implement and maintain Zero Trust Architecture principles
- Evaluate Azure Governance & Policies to ensure compliance
- Assess virtual networks for internet exposure and security risks
- Manage and configure firewalls, IPS, Zscaler, and Netskope
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve security posture
- 2-4 years in security architecture
- 6-10 years in IT security, networking, or system administration
- Background in cybersecurity, network administration, or Linux administration
- Experience transitioning from Administrator → Engineer → Architect
- Cloud: Azure (Governance, Policies)
- Networking: Cisco, Linux, Windows
- Security Tools: Netskope, Zscaler, Firewalls, IPS
- DevOps: Azure DevOps
- CISSP
- Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) or equivalent security certifications
