Title: Sr. Cloud Engineer (AWS & Azure)
Location: Primarily Remote in Houston, TX (Occasional onsite as needed for meetings, etc.)

Key Points:

• This position will be primarily remote with some occasional onsite meetings, so candidates MUST still reside in the Houston area
• This position requires strong experience in AWS, with additional knowledge and experience in Azure

Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer with deep expertise in AWS and experience in Microsoft Azure cloud environments. The ideal candidate will drive the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure to ensure reliability, security, and performance.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration to improve efficiency and consistency.
• Implement and maintain system security measures, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Optimize cloud resource usage and costs while maintaining performance and availability.
• Develop and execute disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
• Troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure issues, minimizing downtime and disruptions.
• Collaborate with teams across the organization to align cloud strategies with business goals.
• Research and evaluate new cloud technologies to enhance system capabilities.
• Improve system reliability through proactive monitoring, maintenance, and incident response.
• Plan and execute cloud migrations, upgrades, and optimizations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Deep experience in cloud computing platforms - AWS, Azure (AWS is the emphasis)
• Experience with the following tools and technologies:
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform)
  • Configuration management tools (Ansible)
  • Containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Networking and security protocols (TCP/IP, VPN, Firewall, SSL/TLS)
  • Scripting and programming languages (Python, PowerShell)
• Disaster recovery planning and implementation
• Performance optimization and resource management
• Cloud cost management and optimization
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Cross-functional collaboration
• Project management and planning
• Research and evaluation of new technologies
• Backup and recovery systems
• System reliability and uptime improvement
