This leadership role will help foster and guide the sales team by developing and executing strategies to meet or exceed the hotels' sales (revenue) goals.RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIESManage sales teams and the development of team members.Promote company products and services to key buyers in trade shows and meetings.Monitor team members' weekly sales activities.Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual sales budgets and forecasts.Develop strategies and plans to target key business segments.Track market activities and business trends.Identify areas and segments for improvement and create programs to address any gaps and shortfalls.Collaborate with the marketing and hotel operations teams.Maintain positive and supportive relationships with the sales team members.Strategize and establish brand-wide sales programs.Provide high-level leadership to sales team members to achieve assigned objectives.Continuously evaluate hotel involvement in various sales distribution channels and the performance and its revenue share within.Set goals and expectations for direct reports, align performance and incentives, manage performance issues, and hold the team accountable for results.Provide leadership to help drive productivity and performance of the sales team, ensuring timely execution of specific assignments.Prepare pre-trip and post-trip reporting of any travel and tradeshow-related activities.Participate in weekly and monthly sales department and revenue and strategy meetings.Develop, implement, and execute sales strategies in quarterly action plans to impact existing key accounts, target accounts, and the development of new business opportunities within assigned market segments.Maintain positive relations and high visibility in relevant business organizations such as HSMAI, CVB, NYC & Company, Chamber of Commerce, and local hotel / motel associations.Job RequirementsUniversity or college degree or equivalent work experience.10 years of hotel sales experience, both in business travel and group sales.Computer proficiency and working experience with Microsoft Office and other communications software.Hotel systems experience including Delphi, Opera / PMS, and GDS.Self-starter and self-leadership skills.Ability to collaborate along with interpersonal skills.Willingness to embrace and put forth new, creative ideas to advance the organization.Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
