As we expand our reach, we're looking for IoT Field Technicians as independent contractors to join our team. Position Summary:

We are urgently seeking a Camera/Surveillance Expert in Dothan, Alabama to assist with a one-time project at a storage facility. The technician will scope out the location and provide recommendations for full surveillance coverage, including the number of cameras needed, installation locations, and installation requirements (e.g., power needs, electrical work, low/high voltage requirements). The work needs to be completed ASAP, and a quote for time and materials will be required. Experience with both low voltage and high voltage systems is essential. Preference will be given to candidates based in or near Dothan, AL.

General Role Overview (Independent Contractor - Field Technician):

In addition to this immediate surveillance project, we are also looking for technically skilled and adaptable Field Technicians with a strong foundation in electrical principles to perform installations of routers, gateways, and sensors. While knowledge of IoT is a plus, electrical expertise is critical. We offer full IoT training to help you expand your skills into this growing field.

Key Responsibilities:

• Scope out a storage facility for camera surveillance: recommend camera count, installation points, and electrical/power needs for full coverage.
• Provide a detailed quote for time and materials.
• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial, mechanical, and electrical equipment (IoT, sensors, routers, etc.).
• Diagnose technical issues and provide solutions using diagnostic tools.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Read schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to assist in installations and repairs.
• Execute construction-related tasks: drilling, mounting, securing equipment.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery safely.
• Communicate clearly with clients and team members on-site.
• Submit detailed service reports, job updates, and documentation.
• Adapt to varying workloads and respond to emergency service calls.
• Travel to client locations for on-site support and technical services.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Field Technician or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems (low and high voltage), mechanical systems, or automation.
• Experience with camera/surveillance system installations is highly desirable.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical/mechanical issues.
• Comfortable with construction tasks, including mounting hardware, concrete drilling, and working at heights.
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations, PPE, and site safety standards.
• Excellent communication skills and strong problem-solving ability.
• Must have own tools, including drills, multimeters, and safety gear.
• Willingness to travel locally (priority to techs based near Dothan, AL).
