Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced PLC Automations Technician who specializes in industrial installations, PLC programming, and troubleshooting within manufacturing settings. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of manufacturing protocols and a keen interest in or experience with IoT
We’re looking for a skilled Automations Technician to join our IoT installations team. We’ll train you in how to look at processes and machines for IoT opportunity - how we can leverage a tool or system to gather critical data and prevent unplanned downtime or visualize production. What’s critical is your ability to understand manufacturing: rotary equipment, different types of production lines, reactive vs preventive vs predictive maintenance, and more!
We work on a project-basis - as we have work to come up, we’ll contact you with a job proposal that lists what we’ll need you to do (site assessment, installation, or maintenance) and the time it takes to complete. We’ll interview, train, and provide everything you need to be successful with us.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct a full day site survey.
- Understand and integrate manufacturing protocols such as MODBUS, Ethernet/IP, ProfiNet, CANBUS, and other industrial communication standards.
- Survey the entire plant and understand its processes and inner workings.
- Take plenty of pictures to bring back for research.
- Document procedures and daily operations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Automations Technician in manufacturing settings, with strong hands-on skills in PLCs and industrial automation systems.
- Familiarity with industrial network protocols, especially MODBUS.
- Experience with or a strong interest in IoT technologies
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on complex installation projects.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients and team members.
- Willingness to travel to client sites and adapt to flexible working hours based on project needs.
