Title: Windows Server Generalist with Security
Location: Raleigh, NC 27607
Duration: 3 Months
Pay: $65-75/hr all-inclusive
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or another related information technology field and four (4) years of IT related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Management recommends that candidates have at least three (3) years of directly related experience in Windows Server Management three (3) years of directly related experience to Physical Server Management.
PRIMARY TASK OBJECTIVES FOR CONTRACTOR (may overlap)
1.) Security Engineer Assistance.
- Team’s sole Security Engineer has several security related projects and tasks that he needs assistance with. Tasks will include but not be limited to:
- Vulnerability Research and Remediation
- Monthly patch review and deployment assistance.
- Zero-day patch review and deployment assistance (if necessary).
2.) Access Request Assistance
- Team receives a large amount of access requests to various resources. This position will assist with fulfilling these requests as quickly as possible when able. If not, they will route requests to appropriate DCS engineer for fulfillment and notify them.
3.) Other tasks assigned to assist with the management of the Windows Server Virtual Environment.
Over 10 years of expertise required with below skill set:
Strong experience with Microsoft PowerShell tool scripting.
Experience with vulnerability remediation & patch management
Experience with Microsoft Active Directory/Group Policy Objects.
Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Management (MECM)
Microsoft Patching experience.
Physical server management experience with CISCO UCS Servers
Any Enterprise Storage platform experience… EMC a plus
Cloud services management experience, preferably Azure and AWS.
knowledge of common security standards such as PCI, FERPA, and NIST
Familiarity with NC Statewide security standards.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
•Windows Server Administration
oManage operation, health, and security of a Virtual Server environment.
oResearch Vulnerability Notices when received and work with affected areas for patch or workaround deployment.
oAssist with management and maintenance of physical datacenter infrastructure.
oRespond to Monitoring System Alerts.
•Active Directory User Administration
oManage Users and Groups.
oProvide Users access to requested resources.
•General Administration
oPerform troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and performance benchmarking.
oProvide support for issues ranging from single-user issues to system-wide problems.
oAssist with periodic testing of disaster preparedness for the Center Data Center.
oAnd other assigned duties.
The person in this position reports to the Distributed Computing Manager. Work hours are 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday plus On-Call responsibilities as scheduled.
Salary : $65 - $75
