What are the responsibilities and job description for the Postdoctoral Research Fellow position at Institute for Clinical Research/DC VA Medical...?
Calcium Signaling Lab at DC VA Medical Center is looking for a postdoctoral candidate
This VA-ORD funded project will investigate the biochemical mechanism of calcium stone formation. Specifically, the focus will be on the molecular candidates that govern the regulation of calcium in kidney tubule and the potential in vivo interventions in animal models. The project will also focus on the development of tools to probe the role of calcium channels in disease onset and progression. Studies will involve a wide range of approaches including molecular biology, mice genetics, and proteomics.
Our Laboratory (Calcium Signaling Laboratory) at DC VA Medical Center studying calcium signaling defects and channelopathies to understand their possible pathological mechanisms using genetic, pharmacological, and translational approaches. This Laboratory has long-standing records of receiving NIH and VA-ORD findings and helped many students, postbacs. and PhDs towards professional development as independent scientist/faculty within US and abroad. The candidate with recent Ph.D. in Molecular biology/Biochemistry or a related discipline with evidence of publication in high impact journals are encouraged to apply. Experience in gene and protein expressions, molecular cloning and mice genetics are preferred. US citizenship is required for this position.
