IEH Laboratories, a Leader in Food Safety, is now accepting applications for a Media Prep Technician position at its facility in Greeley, CO.
Ideal candidates will possess the following:
– A high school diploma or GED (required); an associate degree in Biology or related field (preferred)
– Basic math skills
– Good attitude and willingness to work with others
– Good communication and organization skills
– Ability to regularly lift 30lbs above the waist level
– Ability to occasionally lift 50lbs above waist level
– Strong understanding of aseptic technique in the laboratory
Media Prep Technician duties include: media preparation (broth and agar plates), sample prep, QC on media, sample sorting and log-in, sample testing steps (under supervision), compositing using aseptic technique, transcribing results, washing glassware, general laboratory cleaning, and other duties as assigned.
The pay range for this position is $16 – $17 hourly (DOE). This is a full-time position eligible for the following benefits after a brief waiting period: medical, dental, vision, life/AD&D insurance, long- and short-term disability insurance, 401(k), health and dependent care FSA plans, employee assistance program, 15 days of paid time off per year for sick leave and/or vacation, 3 days paid bereavement leave, and 6 paid holidays per year.
The schedule for this position is Tuesday through Friday, from 8:00am to 6:30pm. The laboratory operates 24/7, so candidates must be willing to work nights, weekends, and potentially holidays.
