Summary:
The Medical Director works in partnership with IHS's Health Services team to provide comprehensive medical care for adults experiencing homelessness, with expertise in complex care needs. This leadership role focuses on developing and implementing patient-centered healthcare solutions while building a robust medical services program.

Compensation:
Starting from $130 hourly, with experience that aligns with contract and budgets.
Essential Functions:
- Demonstrate excellent customer service consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission, and Values of the organization.

Oversee the development of patient care consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission, and Values of the organization.

Conduct comprehensive assessments and medical evaluations to identify age-related health trends among homeless seniors

Diagnose and treat medical conditions, creating treatment plans that address multiple health concerns simultaneously for especially complex guests.

Consult on medication regimens with particular attention to drug interactions and side effects.

Evaluate patients' functional abilities and address mobility concerns specific to homeless seniors and disabled.

Collaborate with IHS healthcare team members, specialists, and community partners to coordinate comprehensive care.

Provide education to patients and staff regarding management of complex chronic conditions; Address mental health concerns including depression, anxiety, and cognitive decline.

Maintain accurate medical documentation and complete required reports in electronic health records.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
1. Comprehensive knowledge of adult medicine.
2. Experience treating patients with multiple chronic conditions.
3. Strong clinical decision-making in resource-limited settings.
4. Ability to provide trauma-informed care with a strong understanding of behavioral health integration.
5. Proficiency with electronic health records.
6. Able to promote excellence in team-based care delivery and work with vulnerable populations.
Required Education and Experience:
1. MD or DO from accredited medical school.
2. Completion of residency in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or related specialty.
3. Board certification or eligibility in primary specialty.
4. Current Hawaii medical license (or ability to obtain).
5. Valid DEA registration.
6. Current BLS/ACLS certification.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
Part- time position available, ranging from .25-.5 FTE, with the requirements of both administrative and clinical duties. Hours and days may vary based on the needs of the organization.
