The senior law enforcement training program lead is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive safety and wellness training programs specifically tailored for correctional professionals. This critical role ensures that officers are equipped with the necessary skills, knowledge, and resources to maintain their well-being, resilience, and effectiveness in the line of duty.
Responsibilities
Most work is performed in a highly productive and fast-paced virtual office environment with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Employees must be able to maintain a quiet remote office space that is free of distractions. Some assignments may require travel.

Position Description
The senior law enforcement training program lead is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive safety and wellness training programs specifically tailored for correctional professionals. This critical role ensures that officers are equipped with the necessary skills, knowledge, and resources to maintain their well-being, resilience, and effectiveness in the line of duty.
Responsibilities
- Identify the challenges faced by correctional professionals in maintaining their safety and well-being
- Identify the best practices and evidence-based approaches to promote officer health and resilience
- Identify the need to develop new contractors and assist with their onboarding consistent with current policy and procedure
- Oversee the evaluation of all program instructors to maintain the highest levels of delivery needed to stay competitive in the field of corrections training
- Collaborate with subject-matter experts, correctional agencies, and health professionals to create evidence-based training curricula
- Assist in developing training modules covering topics such as stress management, physical fitness, mental health, de-escalation techniques, and tactical safety
- Assist in customizing programs to address the unique challenges faced by correctional professionals
- Supervise the delivery of in-person and virtual training sessions for correctional personnel
- Utilize engaging instructional methods, case studies, and practical exercises to enhance learning
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and adaptability within the training programs
- Assist in creating resources, including training materials, handouts, videos, and reference guides
- Collaborate with external partners and organizations to curate relevant content
- Stay informed about the latest trends, research, and best practices related to safety and wellness
- Integrate cutting-edge approaches into training programs to address emerging challenges
- Regularly assess the effectiveness of training initiatives through participant feedback, performance metrics, and qualitative data
- Make data-driven adjustments to improve program outcomes
- Work closely with corrections agencies and relevant stakeholders to build strong partnerships
- Engage with officers to understand their needs and incorporate their perspectives into program development
- Proficiency in grant proposal writing, including the ability to articulate the need for safety and wellness programs
- Ability to emphasize the importance of our training programs in supporting correctional professionals and their families
- Clear communication of how the proposed initiatives will directly impact officer safety and well-being
- Advocate for officer safety and wellness at local, state, and national levels
- Raise awareness about the importance of mental health, physical fitness, and overall well-being within the corrections community
- Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, psychology, education, or a related field (master's degree preferred)
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in corrections or a combination of corrections and law enforcement experience, with an emphasis on training, wellness programs, or related areas
- Strong communication, facilitation, and leadership skills
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and cultural competency
- Ability to analyze complex issues from various stakeholder perspectives at both the macro and micro levels and develop strategies to ensure successful outcomes
