What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mandarin School Principal/Executive Director position at Institute Of Chinese Culture?
Responsibilities
- All duties related to the daily operation of ICC's Mandarin Immersion Program including the preschool and elementary school.
- Work in tandem with the ICC Board of Directors to establish and pursue organizational short and long-term goals.
- Manage program budget including yearly comprehensive budget/scenario planning to Board of Directors for approval.
- Actively participate in fundraising activities including securing major donors.
- Maintain Cognia accreditation.
- Manage all personnel/staffing considerations in coordination with preschool director.
- Occasional nights and weekends required for community and fundraising events.
Qualifications
- Have 3 years of teaching experience. At least one year of teaching experience in Texas.
- Have a teaching certificate.
- Be familiar or interested in Texas K-12 education codes.
- Principal license preferred. If not, administrator experiences are expected. A plan to attain a principal license is expected. There are online educational leadership programs available.
- Be fluent in written and spoken Mandarin Chinese and English. This is a bilingual program. The capability to manage both language curricula is essential.
- Have great communication skills (with parents, students, teachers, and the ICC Board of Directors).
- Have excellent problem solving and leadership skills. Application materials should demonstrate these skills.
- The candidate will be expected to ensure the school is operated following all state, city, and organization regulations to best promote student learning in a safe and professional environment.
