International College of Health Sciences (ICHS) is seeking a Program Director - Diagnostic Medical Sonography is a leadership role responsible for the comprehensive management and strategic development of the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program. This position plays an important role in facilitating student success, maintaining program integrity, and ensuring high-quality academic and clinical education.
Responsibilities
Program Management
- Oversee the daily operations, structure, and administration of the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
- Conduct periodic reviews and evaluations of program curricula
- Ensure continued development and effectiveness of educational strategies
- Maintain compliance with accreditation standards and professional regulations
Academic Leadership
- Coordinate and integrate clinical and didactic education components
- Develop, review, and revise program policies and procedures
- Maintain a systematic evaluation plan for ongoing program improvement
- Update curriculum to reflect current industry standards and practices
Student Success
- Provide comprehensive student counseling and academic advising
- Evaluate student performance during clinical visits
- Maintain detailed student clinical records
- Calculate quarterly grades
- Analyze student data including retention rates and credential pass rates
Clinical Education Coordination
- Act as a liaison between clinical agencies and the college
- Ensure effectiveness of clinical affiliates and education centers
- Coordinate, evaluate, and supervise the program's clinical component
- Maintain open communication with Clinical Coordinator
Qualifications
Education / Experience / Knowledge
Bachelor's degree required, and a registry in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDMS). Director must also hold a valid registered diagnostic cardiac, vascular or general sonography credential; in good standing with the ARDMS or CCI.
Required Experience and Skills:
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience as a registered diagnostic medical sonographer, of which two (2) years must include experience in clinical diagnostic care and a minimum of two (2) years teaching in an accredited sonography program either as an appointed faculty member or as a clinical preceptor.
- Successful experience with an understanding of federal, state, and local and private grant funded Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program
- In-depth understanding of planning, program development, evaluation, and budgeting
Desired:
- Teaching and administrative experience in a comprehensive college setting
- Employment experience in business and industry
Certificates and Licensures: Registry in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDMS) and hold a valid registered diagnostic cardiac, vascular or general sonography credential; in good standing with the ARDMS or CCI.
