Mission:
The core mission of the Operations Development Engineer is to administer and aid in the development of the company’s technologies and business processes to drive efficiencies and support growth. The candidate will be expected to multitask between operations/project management and Enterprise Initiatives. The ability to form and implement solutions autonomously, rather than through reliance on third-party service providers (e.g. developers or technical support staff) is strongly preferred. The business operations that are required for longevity assets are complex and technical, and therefore critical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to work as part of a disciplined team are critically important.
Accountabilities
1. Work closely with Director of Operations to form solutions to the organization’s business process initiatives (e.g. automation of low-level tasks, improvement of process to increase throughput, reduce error rate, or enhance user experience).
2. Recommend, scope, and manage projects related to AI-based (LLM) or traditional process improvements, both autonomously and under the direction of Director of Operations.
3. Refine existing KPIs or identify and establish new KPIs to measure operational efficiency, accuracy, and overall health of operations.
4. Act as the main point of contact for the operations team’s technical questions.
5. Maintain process documentation, user guides, and training materials across business processes. Update documentation and maintain revision history in accordance with best practice and business continuity objectives.
6. Meet with Director of Operations on a regular basis to develop project plans for operational excellence.
7. Assist in managing ongoing development of operational team through training and retention initiatives.
8. Assist in managing Salesforce operations and technology, with the potential to own strategic decisions and their outcomes for the company, develop projects, and influence the culture of the firm.
9. Salesforce Training: Spot gaps in knowledge and user experience and recommend regular (or refresher) training for all business processes.
10. Assist with admin functions across IL’s technology platforms (Salesforce CRM, cloud storage platforms, Microsoft 365, Teams, cloud-based backup and security software, etc.).
11. Execution Tracking: Develop and own tools and systems to track progress against all outstanding projects and company initiatives.
12. System initiatives: In collaboration with Director of Operations, own technology and system initiatives and programs.
13. Manage projects and relationships with technology vendors/developers.
