This is a full-time (40-hours), exempt position, preference to applicants in Washington, DC area. This will be a hybrid position for candidates in DC, coming into the office (at least) three times a week initially, and at least twice per week after the conclusion of the onboarding period. This position is open to applicants within the Washington, DC Metro market.
Position Description
We are seeking an Associate, Diversity in Action to support our growing initiatives focused on fostering a more diverse and inclusive private equity industry. This role is an exciting opportunity for an early-career professional who is passionate about DEI, stakeholder engagement, and responsible investment practices.
The Associate, Diversity in Action will play a key role supporting the DIA signatory network, comprised of nearly 300 leading institutional investors and asset managers. This includes program support, signatory relations, conducting research, and contributing to thought leadership. This role will provide an opportunity to work directly with ILPA colleagues based in Washington, DC, Toronto, and London, and DIA Signatories and ILPA members across the globe.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Support relationships with DIA signatories, including communication via email, conference calls, and in-person meetings at industry events.
- Assist in executing DIA programming, including coordinating quarterly roundtables, industry events, and working groups by preparing agendas, research materials, and tracking discussions.
- Assist in the planning and execution of webinars, workshops, and member engagement initiatives, ensuring content is relevant and accessible to a global audience
- Monitor and share best practices in DEI implementation across talent management, investment strategies, and industry collaboration.
- Conduct research on emerging DEI trends and responsible investment practices, incorporating global market perspectives.
- Analyze and synthesize data to provide insights that support ILPA members, DIA signatories, and broader industry stakeholders.
- Support ad-hoc requests for data and analysis, ensuring information is accurate, timely, and aligned with ILPA’s strategic objectives.
- Contribute to the development of educational resources, presentations, and research briefs to enhance members’ understanding of DEI and inclusive investment practices.
- Track global regulatory developments and industry initiatives related to DEI and responsible investment practices, providing insights and recommendations to ILPA leadership.
- Support the development of ILPA’s DEI tools and frameworks, including contributions to the Due Diligence Questionnaire, DEI Metrics Reporting Template, and other industry best practices.
- Maintain and update data within Salesforce, tracking member engagement, signatory demographic information, and key program metrics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, finance or a related discipline
- An interest in the private equity industry, diversity, equity and inclusion, and a desire to learn more
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in research, policy analysis, investment management, DEI or related area
- Exceptional analytical, written and verbal communication skills
- Strong ability to synthesize complex information and communicate insights to a variety of audiences
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong time management skills to handle multiple projects and deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Salesforce is a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, including institutional investors, fund managers, and industry leaders
- Proactive, collaborative team player who thrives in a mission-driven, fast-paced environment
- High level of accountability, accuracy, and efficiency, especially while handling multiple tasks
Benefits/Compensation
The anticipated base salary range for this role is $60,000 to $70,000 USD. The compensation range for this role is specific to Washington, DC area and considers a wide range of factors including but not limited to the skill sets required/preferred; prior experience and training; licenses and/or certifications.
In addition to the base salary, the hired professional will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package including paid time off (up to 30 days), company holiday closure, retirement benefits, 100% employer paid health insurance for employee and their dependents, life insurance and disability, paid holidays, and professional development allowance. Additionally, the hired candidate will be eligible to participate in an annual discretionary incentive program, the award of which will be dependent on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
