We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Revenue Accountant to join our finance team at Instructure, Inc. The Senior Revenue Accountant will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate revenue recognition and compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in revenue accounting within the software industry and a deep understanding of ASC 606 guidelines.

Location: The preference is to be on-site at our Salt Lake City headquarters, however, we are open to remote for the right candidate.

• Perform revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 guidelines, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Analyze contracts, agreements, and sales arrangements to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Legal, and Operations to review and assess revenue implications of new deals and offerings.
• Prepare and maintain documentation supporting revenue recognition policies and procedures.
• Assist in the implementation and enhancement of revenue recognition software and systems.
• Conduct periodic reviews and reconciliations of revenue-related accounts.
• Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
• Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations related to revenue recognition.
• Provide guidance and support to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or equivalent certification required.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in revenue accounting, preferably within the software industry and public accounting.
• Thorough understanding of ASC 606 revenue recognition guidelines.
• Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
• Experience with revenue recognition automation tools is a plus.
