What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Supervisor position at Instrumedical Technologies, Inc.?
Who We Are Looking For:
If you thrive in precision-driven environments, have a sharp eye for detail, and understand that quality control is more than just a checklist—it’s a mindset, this role is for you.
At Instru-Med, we manufacture high-precision medical devices, and we need a Quality Control Supervisor who not only knows ISO 13485 regulations inside and out but also brings calibration and metrology expertise to ensure our measurement processes are as precise as the products we create.
This is not a role for someone looking to "learn as they go." We need a leader who can hit the ground running, mentor a team, and drive continuous improvement in our quality control processes.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Lead & Develop the QC Team – Supervise, mentor, and train the Quality Control department, ensuring a culture of precision and accountability.
- Own the Calibration & Metrology Process – Manage and maintain all measurement tools, calibration schedules, and metrology systems to ensure inspection equipment remains in peak condition.
- Oversee Inspections – Lead in-process and final inspections, ensuring full compliance with ISO 13485 and other relevant standards. Define and improve inspection criteria to eliminate defects before they happen.
- Drive Continuous Improvement – Analyze inspection data, identify trends, root causes, and inefficiencies, and implement solutions that elevate product quality and streamline processes.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally – Work closely with Engineering, Production, and Compliance to ensure quality is built into every stage of manufacturing.
- Ensure Compliance & Documentation – Maintain audit-ready records, enforce proper documentation practices, and train staff on regulatory requirements.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Experience: 5 years in quality control within a medical device or precision manufacturing environment, including 2 years in a leadership role.
- Calibration & Metrology Expertise: Hands-on experience in calibrating and maintaining precision measurement tools, gauges, and equipment. Deep understanding of metrology best practices.
- Technical Mastery: Proficiency in measurement tools, blueprint reading, GD&T, and ERP systems (E2/JobBoss a plus).
- Leadership & Communication Skills: You can train, mentor, and lead a team while effectively collaborating with engineers, production staff, and compliance personnel.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Mindset: You approach quality control with a data-driven, proactive attitude, always seeking ways to improve processes and eliminate defects.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with ERP systems.
The Work Environment:
- Hands-on leadership role requiring a balance of production floor oversight and strategic quality planning.
- Ability to lift/move up to 25 lbs as needed.
- Commitment to precision, accuracy, and compliance—because in this industry, every detail matters.
