Berkshire Health Systems seeks a dedicated and experienced Director of Facilities Engineering & Construction to take on a mission-critical leadership role overseeing facilities operations at Berkshire Medical Center and all other BHS-owned locations.
Position Overview
As Director, you will hold direct responsibility for:
- Facilities Engineering and Maintenance
- Building Life Safety Compliance
- New Construction & Renovation Project Planning and Management
You will play a vital role in the strategic direction of BHS, collaborating with executive leadership to drive quality, efficiency, and innovation in facility operations. Your leadership will ensure safe, compliant, and efficient environments that support the highest standards of patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively participate in strategic planning with a focus on project management, analytical insight, and operational excellence.
- Manage and organize financial operating budgets for multiple departments.
- Lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams, setting a high standard for collaboration, professionalism, and staff development.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with Joint Commission standards, including Utility Management, Environment of Care, and Life Safety requirements.
- Design and maintain regulatory documentation and operational processes to ensure continued accreditation and safety.
- Co-chair the Environment of Care Committee, guiding policies and procedures that impact patient and staff safety.
Requirements:
- Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) certification (must be uploaded with CV)
- Massachusetts Construction Supervisor License (Unrestricted) – MA license must be in-hand
- Proven leadership experience in healthcare facilities management and compliance
- Strong budgeting, analytical, and project management skills
- Ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the organization

Job Types: Full-time, Contract, Temporary
Pay: $3,000.00 - $3,400.00 per week
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
