Job Title: Payment Services Clerk

Schedule: Monday – Friday | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Compensation: $23.00 per hour
Position Summary
We are currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payment Services Clerk to join our team in Mather, CA. In this essential role, you will support daily financial and administrative operations by processing client payments, handling incoming and outgoing correspondence, and ensuring accuracy in document and data management.

Key Responsibilities
Mail & Correspondence Processing:
- Sort and batch incoming client mail and correspondence
- Scan, index, and route documents to the appropriate departments
- Maintain accurate records of all processed materials
Payment Reconciliation & Batch Management:
- Review and reconcile daily Electronic Funds Transfers (EFTs) with Electronic Remittance Advices (ERAs)
- Obtain missing Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) from payer websites
- Log and process manual batches, deposits, and check returns
- Identify recurring issues in deposit processing and report to supervisor
Check Printing & Outgoing Mail:
- Collaborate on check printing and mailing activities
- Sort and match checks with supporting documentation
- Operate mail inserter and prepare outgoing mail for courier pickup
- Process and scan returned checks for appropriate handling
Credit Card Processing:
- Process daily virtual credit card payments and enter batch data
- Track credit card activity and batch related disputes
Reporting & Metrics:
- Track and report on daily key performance indicators, including volumes of:
- Mail received
- Checks and credit cards processed
- Co-pay and correspondence batches
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Previous experience in clerical, administrative, or payment processing roles preferred
- Familiarity with healthcare or finance industry practices is an advantage
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Proficient in basic math, including percentages and decimals
- Comfortable using scanning equipment, data entry systems, and internal platforms
- Ability to read, comprehend, and apply procedures and documentation standards
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Strong time management and organizational abilities
- Capable of maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic work environment
