Supply Chain Specialist
Pay Rate $30.00 - $31.56 / hour
Hours : 6am-2 : 30pm
Duration : 6-12 month assignment
Location Pico Rivera, CA
Monday through Thursday (on-site), Friday - Remote
Manages and forecasts the acquisition of large-scale, major spend materials for Gas Construction projects and for replenishment in SCG storerooms. Ensures materials and components meet company standards and specifications. Partners with Gas Engineering departments to implement material requirements and specifications. Monitors and reports on Supplier performance. Assists in developing capital budget forecasts for large-scale, major spend materials for Gas Construction.
Responsibilities / Duties :
- Executes acquisition strategies and reviews orders for critical Gas commodities, materials, and hardware received from planners and / or multiple requests for quotations (RFD) for new business construction, capital projects, and compliance programs.
- Forecasts material requirements to support these efforts.
- Advises on the management of inventory at multiple storeroom locations to minimize inventory investment expense while maximizing material availability.
- Reviews quality deficiency reports for large-scale, major spend materials for gas critical materials that impact inventory.
- Works with vendors and manufacturers to procure materials up to quality control and / or to replace the materials up to the specifications.
- Monitors, assesses, and reports on supplier performance to ensure compliance with Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) and contractual Terms and Conditions.
- Partners with Gas Engineering departments to implement material requirements and specifications and ensures material provided by Suppliers meet company standards and specifications
- Analyzes materials requirement trends to assist in the development of capital budget spend and forecast budget performance for large-scale, major spend materials for gas commodities.
- Reviews and advises on supplier performance in support of the supplier relationship management (SRM) program.
- Advises Material Requirements Specialist in developing and managing Quality Deficiency Reports (QDRs) and the QDR process.
- Evaluates suppliers and provides support to Supply Management in the review and award of bid proposals.
- Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
Qualifications : Experience
3 years of inventory management, procurement, supply management, supply chain processes, materials, and storeroom operations or similar experience is required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Education :
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, supply chain management, engineering, related field, or equivalent experience is required.
Licenses & Certification :
Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) or Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) certifications is preferred.
