Job Summary
The IT Support Specialist provides technical support and troubleshooting for computer and telecommunication systems. This role involves software installations, program updates, inventory control, and user training. The specialist will assist users with hardware and software issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency. The position requires on-site support, with travel using a personal vehicle to support Core Technology Solutions, Small Package, Freight, and SCS locations.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support & Troubleshooting
- Perform hardware and software installations, updates, and troubleshooting.
- Assist users with computer-related issues, ensuring quick resolution.
- Conduct equipment exchanges and maintain inventory controls.
- Provide support for telecommunication systems.
User Training & Support
- Train users on software applications and hardware functionality.
- Explain technical concepts from both user and technical perspectives.
- Offer guidance to users on best practices and efficient use of technology.
On-Site Support & Travel
- Travel to various locations using a personal vehicle to provide on-site IT support.
- Support Core Technology Solutions, Small Package, Freight, and SCS locations.
- Be available for various shifts, including weekends when necessary (e.g., for vacation coverage or planned system upgrades).
Education & Certification:
- Associate s Degree in Computer Science required ( Bachelor s preferred).
- A Certification is required.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues independently.
