The opportunity
We currently have an opportunity for an Operations Supervisor to join our Operations team in our Denver, CO, Salem, VA or Farmington, CT office on a hybrid schedule. This position is responsible for the supervision of an operation department within the company. Accountable for setting and achieving the department goals/objectives relating to workflow, customer service, quality, budgets, etc. to be in line with corporate goals/objectives. Provides exceptional service to internal and external customers, in leading implementation and performance of effective operation and clerical processes. The Operations Supervisor responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develops, manages, supervises, and directs support staff and other support roles as specified by local management.
- Plans, organizes, and directs the day-to-day work activities of direct reports to maximize productivity and quality.
- Supports an open-minded environment of creativity in problem-solving. Effectively implements new processes; makes recommendations for improvements; reviews and sets realistic time constraints and resource needs. Implementation of processes to ensure data / information integrity.
- Performs complex analysis, collaborates with Operations management and reviews department operations and results to department goals. Maximizes department operations effectiveness and efficiency within expense constraints, and delivers a quality product that meets or exceeds customer expectations and service standards.
- Supports Senior Operations Manager in identification of skill sets and skills gaps of operations personnel. Establishes training needs. Develops and delivers effective training and cross-training plans in partnership with Corporate Learning and Organization Development and the Quality and Training Coordinator. Encourages continuing technical education of staff as appropriate.
- Works to consistently understand and find ways to exceed the expectations of internal and external customers, while balancing the interests of the company.
- Assist the Senior Operations Manager in identification of critical business issues.
- Identifies trends and develops plans for eliminating causes of recurring errors. Works with field offices and internal customers to develop, implement and assess effectiveness of workflow and associated procedures. Implements workflow changes as needed, to maximize team effectiveness. Works with staff to interpret and review workflow, productivity and service standard report.
- Manages, sustains and improves staff by supporting the development of innovative procedures and programs that maximize the potential performance and creativity of associates. Establishes a collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork. Encourages continual personal & professional development & advancement.
The expertise you bring
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience is required. Minimum of 5 years of related experience, with 3 years of management experience.
- Experience in Property and Casualty Insurance
Our salary ranges are determined by many factors including location, role, experience and skillset of the candidate. The following ranges displayed reflect the target base salary for new hires, but your recruiter will share more specific compensation information with you during the hiring process. The typical base salary range for this position is: $72,000 – $101,000, based on the factors aforementioned. For candidates located in San Francisco, CA; Hoboken, NJ; and the New York City metro area, the base salary range is $91,000 -$106,000. In addition to base salary, full time Intact employees are also eligible for bonus potential and a full range of benefits to include but not limited to:
