The opportunity
We currently have an opportunity for a Senior AI / ML Engineer to join our Corporate IT team based in our Canton, MA office or remotely within the United States. The Senior AI / ML Engineer is an experienced technology professional who will design, develop, and maintain AI-driven solutions within Intact's technology ecosystem. This role requires expertise in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data-driven decision-making. The engineer will work on integrating AI capabilities and ML models into Intact's application landscape, optimizing data pipelines, and ensuring scalable, high-performance deployments.
This role requires a deep understanding of AI and ML frameworks, API development, and cloud-based AI services. The candidate will play a key role in mentoring junior engineers, influencing architectural decisions, and continuously evaluating emerging AI technologies.
The ideal candidate is highly technical, hands-on, and customer focused, with a strong understanding of how AI and ML can enhance operations across underwriting, pricing, claims analysis, fraud detection, and customer interactions. Some of the Senior AI / ML Engineer responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality AI / ML solutions using the latest frameworks and technologies.
- Design, develop, and deploy and maintain high-quality RAG models to improve the accuracy and relevance of AI-generated content
- Evaluate and demonstrate AI technology trends, ensuring that Intact remains at the forefront of innovation.
- Plan for maintenance, scaling, and continuous improvement of AI solutions.
- Develop and optimize APIs and other integration solutions to embed AI capabilities into Intact's applications.
- Work with cross-functional teams, including back-end and front-end developers, to seamlessly integrate AI into their solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers, promoting best practices in AI / ML development, deployment, and security.
- Identify and capitalize on opportunities to apply AI within Intact's broader technology ecosystem, including document processing, chat automation, predictive modeling, and digital interactions.
- Maintain a strong focus on security and compliance when building AI-driven solutions.
- Develop and deploy machine learning models for applications such as underwriting decisions, pricing, risk assessment, claims image analysis, predictive analytics, fraud detection, and more.
- Fine-tune, implement, and monitor ML models to optimize performance.
- Leverage data engineering expertise to structure and enhance AI models with robust data pipelines.
The expertise you bring
Our salary ranges are determined by many factors including location, role, experience, and skillset of the candidate. The following ranges displayed reflect the target base salary for new hires, but your recruiter will share more specific compensation information with you during the hiring process. The typical base salary range for this position is : $122,000 - $162,000, based on the factors aforementioned. For candidates located in San Francisco, CA; Hoboken, NJ; and the New York City metro area, the base salary range is $142,000 -$166,000. In addition to base salary, full time Intact employees are also eligible for bonus potential and a full range of benefits to include :
