The opportunity

We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Manager of Architecture and Architectural Engineering to join our Corporate IT team in our Canton, MA; Raleigh, NC; Plymouth, MN office or remotely nationwide with ability to travel as needed. This role is pivotal in overseeing and managing enterprise design strategies and architecture across the U.S., ensuring that IT systems consistently align with business objectives.

The Senior Manager provides high-level governance, strategy, and planning in enterprise architecture, anticipating future trends in the IT industry and establishing a roadmap for the organization's technological evolution. This leader possesses an expert-level technical acumen and a mastery of architectural concepts that sets them apart within the field. They manage a diverse team of architects, including Architecture Engineers, technology architects, and solution architects, and support the establishment and achievement of IT strategic objectives.

With a broad view of enterprise application design and a deep understanding of client needs, the Senior Manager determines and develops architectural approaches and solutions for complex projects in an agile environment, often with minimal direction. They conduct business reviews, assess current system requirements, and provide comprehensive architectural solutions to enterprise-wide application challenges. Additionally, the Senior Manager aligns and calibrates the work of the Architecture team with business strategy and needs, directing the development and implementation of technologies that support business objectives.

The Senior Manager leads by influence, collaborating closely with cloud engineering to create a consistent, cost-effective cloud architecture, and partnering with UX architects and software development teams to ensure robust DevSecOps practices. They oversee the Architecture Review Board, ensuring its efficient operation and the comprehensive documentation of standards, best practices, governance items, reference architectures, and roadmaps on the Architecture website. By fostering an independent yet collaborative team environment, the Senior Manager cultivates a high-performing group of architects dedicated to driving technological excellence and enhancing the organization's technology posture.

Education and Experience :

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or another related field OR equivalent work experience.
• 15 years of related work experience with at least 3 years of experience in a leadership role.
• At least 7 years cloud experience with Azure and AWS platforms, Google a plus.
• Hands-on experience with Docker containers and managing containerized applications in Kubernetes environments, including Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS).
• Strong expertise in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, and Python, with a demonstrated ability to automate workflows, manage configurations, and streamline processes.
• Extensive experience working with infrastructure-as-code and configuration management tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation (CF), and Azure Resource Manager (ARM) to automate provisioning and management of cloud resources.
• In-depth knowledge of designing and securing cloud-native software stacks, including hands-on experience with security protocols such as OAuth2, OpenID Connect (OIDC), Open Policy Agent (OPA), Identity and Access Management (IAM), and other industry-standard security frameworks.
• Expert-level proficiency in software development across multiple programming languages including Java, TypeScript, Python, and C#, with a strong focus on building scalable, maintainable, and high-performance applications.

Our salary ranges are determined by many factors including location, role, experience and skillset of the candidate. The following ranges displayed reflect the target base salary for new hires, but your recruiter will share more specific compensation information with you during the hiring process. The typical base salary range for this position is : $167,000 - $210,000, based on the factors aforementioned. For candidates located in San Francisco, CA; Hoboken, NJ; and the New York City metro area, the base salary range is $182,000 -$214,000.
