The opportunity

As a Senior Premium Auditor, you will be responsible for performing comprehensive premium audits on our most complex insurance policies, ensuring that premium charges are accurately calculated. You will work closely with internal teams and clients to assess risk and ensure that audit processes are executed efficiently and accurately.

 Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform audits of any size or complexity for various lines of business.
• Analyze financial statements, business operations, and payroll records to determine proper exposure classification and premium calculation.
• Review policy endorsements, contracts, and other documentation to verify audit accuracy and compliance.
• Ensure timely and confidential notification of premium audit results to appropriate parties.
• Provides classification assistance to agents, underwriters and insureds for more complex classification questions and issues.
• Communicate directly with clients to request necessary information and clarify discrepancies.
• Assist in training and mentoring and provide technical guidance to Premium Audit staff.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and standards to ensure best practices.
• Identifies skill level and training needs of new and existing Premium Audit staff and conducts training as appropriate.
• Performs highly complex work under very limited supervision and exercise independent judgment and decision making in accordance with specified policies and guidelines.

Minimum Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of insurance policies, underwriting, and premium audit procedures.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and using various systems to obtain data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in a hybrid team environment.

 Education and Experience Preferred

• 5-7 years of experience as a Premium Auditor.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.  
• APA 91 & 92 preferred.

Our salary ranges are determined by many factors including location, role, experience and skillset of the candidate. The following ranges displayed reflect the target base salary for new hires, but your recruiter will share more specific compensation information with you during the hiring process. The typical base salary range for this position is: $83,000 – $118,000, based on the factors aforementioned. For candidates located in San Francisco, CA; Hoboken, NJ; and the New York City metro area, the base salary range is $105,000 -$123,000. In addition to base salary, full time Intact employees are also eligible for bonus potential and a full range of benefits to include but not limited to:
