Summary:

InTandem Cycling, Inc. (InTandem) is a 501(c) (3) not-for-profit organization based in NYC that provides free year-round tandem cycling programs for people who are blind, have low vision or who cannot ride independently due to other disabilities. InTandem is a dynamic organization with deep expertise in cycling and an unwavering commitment to ensuring that people who are blind or have low vision are included throughout the organization. We are seeking a team oriented, self-motivated Program Manager who has the experience and desire to collaborate with key team members and volunteers, build on our decade of success and continue to grow our reach. 


Reporting to the Executive Director, the Program Manager is responsible for leading InTandem's day-to-day programming efforts, which include weekly rides in Central Park and providing administrative support to the Executive Director to ensure InTandem’s growth and success in operations and fundraising initiatives. 


Responsibilities:


Program Management and Execution (70%)

  • Manage the safety and success of our weekly rides in Central Park and throughout the NYC Metro Region.
  • Maintain the security, order and cleanliness of InTandem’s bike trailer located in Central Park.
  • Support InTandem’s mechanic by ordering and delivering bike parts to our trailer.
  • Recruit and onboard new cyclists and volunteers, including those from our Youth program.
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with all cyclists and volunteers. 
  • Explore new partnerships and build strong relationships with our community partners. 


Fundraising and Communications (15%)

  • Provide ongoing regular updates to engage staff, board members, committees, partnering organizations, donors and others.
  • Oversee annual communications calendar, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Manage all social media accounts and engage with our community of followers.
  • Develop professional, compelling content for monthly newsletter and donor stewardship materials. 
  • Support our major events (including managing peer-to-peer fundraisers) which include the TD 5 Boro Bike Tour, InTandem Donut Ride, the NYC Marathon and the InTandem Day of Service.


Administrative Duties (15%)

  • Maintain organization’s website and provide timely updates.
  • Track, analyze, and report ride data and other important analytics to the Executive Director. 
  • Processes donations and fundraising data into our database, including timely donor acknowledgments.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in sport/recreation management, social service or related field preferred.


Experience:

  • 1-2 years of nonprofit program management and fundraising experience.
  • Experience with adaptive sports, working with people who are blind or have low vision preferred. 


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Must be detail-oriented and extremely well-organized 
  • Excellent written and verbal skills 
  • Ability to meet key objectives and deliverables as well as to prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously  
  • Ability to be professional, kind, and responsive to donors 
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion 
  • Proven ability to collaborate with diverse groups
  • Weekends and some evenings are required
  • Love of cycling a plus


Compensation:

Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of factors, including but not limited to education, training, experience, location, business needs, internal equity, market demands or budgeted amount for the role. The target hiring range is for new hire offers only, and staff compensation may increase beyond the maximum hiring range based on performance over time. The maximum of the hiring range is reserved for candidates with the highest qualifications and relevant experience. The expected hiring salary range for this role is set forth below and may be modified in the future.
