JOB TITLE: Director of Nursing
CLASSIFICATION: Full Time, Exempt
PROGRAM/DEPARTMENT: Central Nursing
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Chief Clinical Officer
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for developing and insuring implementation of quality nursing policies, procedures and protocols and related trainings for nursing staff. Manages and oversees the nursing services provided to the residents of the IRA in accordance with OPWDD regulations as well as Intandem’s policies and procedures. Supervises all Nursing Support Managers and Residential Nursing staff including providing initial and on-going training; develops, implements, and maintains an orientation training program for new nurses. Develops and implements a system for monitoring provision of services and adherence to departmental procedures and standards (i.e., chart reviews) and reviews the medical status / conditions of Individuals served and provides clinical consultation and direction to all nursing personnel. Reviews and ensures implementation of incident reviews, recommendations and corrective actions for OPWDD Surveys in the area of nursing services. Acts as liaison to the pharmacies, internal and external medical facilities and families as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum Education, Training & Experience:
Five (5) or more years of related work experience
Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education, Training & Experience:
Experience providing training both 1:1 and in groups
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Valid New York State driver’s license that meets the Agency’s driving policy
Demonstrates strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Ability to develop professional relationships with staff, peers and people we serve
Strong skills in the area of problem solving and time management
SALARY:
$85,000.00 - $105,000 per year based on experience
