Job description
This position exists to perform geotechnical tests for the Laboratory department along with meeting deadlines and all confirming requested tests are completed. Regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
Experience preferred but we provide on the job training for the position. Work under the supervision of Engineer, Lab Supervisor and other Lab Technicians.
Your job will primarily consist of:
- Preparing samples for testing, logging, tracking, organizing, and testing soil samples
- Working in a laboratory that tests both geotechnical and/or CMT materials
- Performing calculations of test results
- Tests consists of: Moisture content tests
- Sieve Analysis
- Atterberg Limits tests
- Sulfate content
- Unconfined Compressive strength tests of soils
- Percent Minus 200 tests
- pH tests
- Swell tests
- Must have physical capability to lift and maneuver 50 lb. to 80 lb. soil samples
This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Will consist of supporting all departments of the laboratory and operations.
High School or GED a plus but not required. Construction or previous field experience is a plus but not required.
Intermediate computer experience or more and Basic Algebra / Math skills is a plus
