Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Bindery Operator with 7 years of expertise in commercial printing and bindery operations. Based at Intech Printing & Direct Mail in Naples, Florida, this role is crucial to our finishing department, where quality and efficiency come together to produce outstanding products for our clients. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of die cutting, folding, stitching, and foil stamping, along with the mechanical skills needed to troubleshoot and maintain bindery equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and set up bindery machines, including die cutters, folders, stitchers, and foil stampers, to produce finished products to client specifications.
- Maintain and troubleshoot a range of machines, such as the Brausse clamshell, Heidelberg cylinder die cutter, Kluge press, MBO folder, and Muller Martini Bravo and Presto stitchers.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure products meet the standards of Intech, Coastal, and ASAP before advancing to the next phase.
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance to keep all machines operating smoothly.
- Follow safety protocols and adhere to company standards for equipment operation.
Experience and Qualifications:
- 7 years of experience in a commercial printing environment with hands-on bindery operations.
- Proficiency with digital and conventional bindery equipment, including large-format and specialty finishing machinery.
- Solid understanding of bindery processes, with a proven track record in die cutting, folding, stitching, and foil stamping.
- Strong mechanical skills and the ability to troubleshoot equipment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality finished products.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Physical capability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
