The Procurement Specialist, Indirect Goods & Services is a skilled and detail-oriented professional responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing the agreements from Statements of Work to Master Services Agreements to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of products and services. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical device or regulated industries, a strong understanding of procurement processes, and excellent supplier management skills.
The Procurement Specialist will interact with other procurement team members in support of driving category specific strategies to support business objectives. Will also be responsible to coordinate with the Director of Indirect Procurement in requirements supporting goals and objectives including supplier relationship and performance evaluation process for the supported categories.
Under the direction of the Director of Indirect Goods & Services, Global Procurement, this role will aid in driving process improvements, day-to-day analysis of spend data and contracting needs management. Within this model, the Procurement Specialist will support the identification, implementation and alignment of sourcing strategies and supplier capabilities for various categories of spend. Will negotiate contract terms, pricing and support obtaining the best value for the organization.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities

- Sourcing and Purchasing:
- Identify and evaluate suppliers for Indirect Goods and Services based on category strategies and business requirements
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers, ensuring the best value for the company
- Maintain a strong understanding of market trends and sourcing strategies to ensure cost efficiency
- Vendor Management:
- Build and maintain positive relationships with existing suppliers while continually identifying new suppliers
- Monitor supplier performance to ensure quality, delivery, and compliance with contract terms
- Collaborate with quality and regulatory teams to ensure supplier compliance with relevant standards, including FDA regulations and ISO certifications
- Cost Control and Reporting:
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements in sourcing
- Track and report procurement metrics, including cost savings and supplier performance
- Collaboration:
- Coordinate with internal teams as necessary
- Provide procurement support for purchases within assigned categories
Desired Minimum Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required for his position.
Education:
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline
- 3 years’ experience in procurement management or equivalency, preferably in a medical device or regulated industry
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Certifications:
- Lean or Six Sigma certification is preferred
- CPSM, PMA and/or APICS Certification are preferred

Experience:
- Medical Device or Pharmaceutical industry experience is preferred
- Ability to read, understand and conduct contract negotiations
- Excellent business acumen, including ability to develop a financial analysis, business case preparation, with a data-driven approach
- Sourcing of indirect goods and services
- Ability to manage supply base and build relationships with external partners
- Prominent level of proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite Excel, Power Point, Word, and Outlook.
- Working knowledge and experience with ERP systems required – preference to those with Oracle ERP and Cognos experience.
- Ability to work effectively with a variety of cultures, people, styles, and personalities across multiple sites without direct supervision
- Ability in leading cross-functional teams and project management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

This role is hybrid between Princeton, NJ and remote. Office days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
