To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Engineer the design and development of neurological access and neurosurgical devices.
Experience with EUMDR remediation of medical devices
Proactively collaborate with cross-functional teams, external suppliers, and neurosurgeons.
Prioritize and manage one or more projects and corresponding tasks from concept to launch.
Resolve technical issues by applying theoretical and practical engineering discipline.
Coach, mentor, and delegate work to less experienced engineering personnel and support staff.
Perform data analysis using statistical techniques to verify product characteristics.
Prepare test protocols and reports, drawings, technical specifications, and change orders.
Comply with internal SOPs and Design Control requirements.
Take ownership of assignments given by product development leadership.
Qualifications :
B.S. required in engineering or scientific discipline with minimum 5 years relevant experience; M.S. with minimum 3 years relevant experience; Ph.D. with 0-2 years relevant experience in medical device or similar market segment. Mechanical or biomedical engineering preferred.
Demonstrated mechanical skills.
Proficiency with CAD software such as Solidworks or Onshape is a plus.
Experience with fabrication and 3D printing techniques is a plus.
Proficiency applying dimensioning and tolerancing drafting standards.
Hands-on building and testing of prototype designs and engineering builds.
Strong understanding of medical device regulations and industry standards.
Demonstrated organizational and project management skills.
Proficiency in data analysis software such as Minitab.
Proficiency in Risk Management (Use, Design, and Process FMEA)
Experience working with process development and operations.
Professional communication skills, verbal and written.
Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
