The Document Control Lead will be responsible for overseeing the document control system within our manufacturing operations. This role involves managing the lifecycle of documents, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and implementing best practices for document management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in document control, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to lead a team effectively.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain document control procedures and systems to ensure the accuracy, accessibility, and security of all documentation.
- Ensure all documents comply with industry regulations, company policies, and quality standards. Monitor changes in regulations and update documentation practices accordingly.
- Lead and mentor a team of document control specialists, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient and accurate document processing.
- Identify areas for improvement in document control processes and systems. Propose and implement enhancements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Coordinate and participate in internal and external audits related to document control. Address audit findings and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Oversee the creation, revision, distribution, and archival of controlled documents. Maintain a document tracking system to manage document revisions and ensure version control.
- Work closely with various departments, including Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Production, to ensure alignment and effective communication regarding document requirements and changes.
- Develop and deliver training programs for employees on document control processes and tools. Provide ongoing support and assistance to ensure adherence to document control procedures.
Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. Certification in Document Control or Records Management is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in document control within the manufacturing industry, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of document control principles and best practices.
- Proficiency in document management software and systems.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
