Our Commissioning Professionals test and evaluate the mechanical and / or building automation systems of commercial buildings and facilities, to ensure these systems operate as designed and constructed and make recommendations to improve efficiency and system performance.
Installing new or retrofitting existing climate control and / or building automation systems in large commercial buildings and offices isn’t always an exact science. Complications and modifications in design and construction can greatly affect how well such systems work. Commissioning Agents analyze the performance of these systems. They ensure that the climate controls and building automation systems operate properly and efficiently, fine-tuning the system through testing and evaluation procedures. Commissioning Agents are usually involved with system start-up and will document all testing procedures. They troubleshoot problems and make recommendations to the system design engineers to improve operation. Commissioning Agents are technical experts and must be able to work under pressure during the start-up and intense periods of testing the system.
JOB DUTIES
- Runs, pre-functional checklist sets up jobs with admin staff
- Review of all drawings for projects meetings
- Performs Cx duties in the field and office to ensure customer is getting what they paid for.
- Reports updates of KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) during bi-weekly ops meetings to ensure bid, sales and billings goals are being met.
- Reporting : Issuing final reports. If the gathering of docs is done properly during the life of the project, this piece is not a heavy lift at all. We can look at the other branches, Cx Reporting, and take the best from them as well but overall.
- Estimation : Working on estimations for Cx work in various areas of the US when needed.
- Works on business development with current and new customers with annual growth goals for the department.
- Work collaboratively with the MTI TAB departments in different regions of service to ensure the customer is satisfied and efficiencies between TAB & Cx are met.
- Travel to projects for pre-bid, post bid, routine and troubleshooting meetings when needed.
- Reporting billable time for all Cx Department projects weekly to invoice personnel, min goals are to be determined and met monthly to ensure departments profitable.
- Meet Quarterly with the Executive Team to review project performance and provide updates.
- Collaborate with design engineers to gather / provide information on existing systems
- Collaborate with the Cx Technicians on project status, issues, direction, budgets etc.
- Oversee and ensure quality control, quality assurance and site safety.
- Communicate consistently and effectively with all project stakeholders, ensure the customer is satisfied.
- Lead Commissioning Meetings, Functionally Test HVAC Equipment, etc.
- Travel is required, MTIs preference is to have an onsite presence whenever possible.
- The position is salary, hours are determined by jobs and workload.
