We are looking for a highly skilled Controls Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in control systems, automation, and manufacturing processes. This role involves designing, developing, and optimizing control systems to enhance manufacturing efficiency and ensure the seamless operation of machinery and equipment.
Primary Responsibilities
• Develop and implement control systems for manufacturing equipment, including PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) systems.
• Design, configure, and optimize automation solutions to improve production processes, increase throughput, and enhance overall system performance.
• Integrate control systems with existing manufacturing infrastructure, including coordinating with IT and engineering teams to ensure smooth interfacing with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) and other enterprise systems.
• Provide technical support for control systems, troubleshoot and resolve issues related to hardware and software, and perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Analyze manufacturing processes and recommend improvements based on control system performance data, aiming to increase efficiency, reliability, and safety.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation for control systems, including system specifications, wiring diagrams, and operational procedures.
• Conduct testing and validation of control systems to ensure they meet performance and safety standards. Develop and execute test plans to verify system functionality.
• Lead and manage control system projects from conception through to deployment, including budgeting, scheduling, and coordination with stakeholders.
• Ensure control systems adhere to industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Provide training and support to manufacturing personnel on the operation and maintenance of control systems.
Professional Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, PE) are a plus.
• Proven experience as a Controls Engineer or in a similar role within the manufacturing industry. Hands-on experience with PLC programming, SCADA systems, and automation technologies is essential.
• Proficiency in PLC programming languages (e.g., ladder logic, structured text).
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
• Experience with HMI design and configuration.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex control system issues.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and control system integration.
• Familiarity with software tools for control system design and simulation.
• Knowledge of safety standards and best practices in control systems.
• Position will require travel up to 20%
