Job Summary: The Benefits and Eligibility Specialist (BES) is primarily responsible for obtaining, updating and verifying pertinent health benefits information and proof of residency. The BES provides specialized advocacy and assistance to consumers who may be eligible and wish to apply, or assist in appeal, for Supplemental Security Income/Social Security Disability Income, Medicaid, Patient Assistance Program, Affordable Care Act plans, and other healthcare benefits. The BES is supervised with under the general supervision of the Executive Assistant/Office Manager in close coordination with the unit Practice Manager. BES staff are also tasked with providing education about eligibility for services guidelines and unique health benefit coverage(s).
The BES is is a member of the administrative support team which consists of authorization and administrative specialists under the general supervision of the unit Practice Manager. This position will be split between the Oak Springs Clinic and Children and Family Services to enhance access to this important role, providing valuable support to those who need assistance.
Regular, predictable attendance is considered to be an essential requirement for this position. Other duties may be assigned. May require a flexible work schedule.

Education
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
Required:
- Current and valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Preferred:
- Two years' experience in working with Social Security disability claims, disability claims, Medicaid, and/or other benefits.
Workdays: Monday - Friday.
Workhours: 8:00AM - 5:00PM.
Salary: $20.83 an hour.
