Job Summary: The Rights Protection Officer is located in the Network Development and Management Division of Integral Care and performs complex mediation work involving assisting individuals in resolving consumer or provider complaints, investigations and provider appeals. The Rights Protection Officer serves as the liaison with the Department of Protective and Regulatory Services (DFPS) and other regulatory bodies. The Rights Protection Officer is on call for abuse/neglect complaints investigation conducted by DFPS. The Rights Protection Officer provides consumer, staff and provider training and education. The Rights Protection Officer also ensures contract compliance through monitoring visits and record reviews. This position works under general supervision of the Director of Network Development and Management with latitude for use of initiative and independent judgment.

Regular, predictable attendance is considered to be an essential requirement for this position. Other duties may be assigned. May require a flexible work schedule.

Education:

Required:

  • Master's degree in Social Work, psychology, Human Services or Counseling.

License:

Required:

  • Current and valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • LPHA, LPC or LCW license and Mediation Certification preferred

Experience:

Required:

  • 6 years' experience in behavioral health, developmental disabilities and/or child and family services.
  • Experience in counseling and dispute resolution.
  • Previous state or not-for-profit experience a plus, preferably with senior-level management staff.


Preferred:

  • Knowledge of pertinent laws, and regulations and their interpretation.
  • Skill in conducting investigations, in mediation, de-escalation skills, and dispute resolution
  • Skill in investigating complaints
  • Ability to communicate effectively and use effective interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyze and prepare documents, reports and correspondence
  • Ability to recognize problems and identify and facilitate solutions
  • Knowledge of community resources; knowledge of the Center's service delivery principals, standards and methods, and of program policies and procedures.
  • Ability to train others; to assess client needs; to coordinate client services; and to provide guidance to other staff.
  • Computer skills necessary to document work performed utilizing appropriate automated system(s).
  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas and complex concepts with individuals from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds through oral and written communication.
  • Ability to constructively and efficiently work with other professionals and staff, community representatives, persons with disabilities, and family members.
  • Ability to foster strong, positive, and effective working relationships with inter-agency and intra-agency team members, encouraging and supporting interaction among various team members across organizational lines.

Hours: Full-Time.

Workdays: Monday - Friday.

Workhours: 8:00AM - 5:00PM.

Salary: $75,012.08.
