Plant Accountant
Job Summary
The Plant Accountant is responsible for general accounting, cost accounting and analysis, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other tasks as assigned.
Essential Functions
- Maintains the plant's general ledger.
- Processes accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Prepares plant financial reports.
- Analyzes and reports variances to budget and standards.
- Work with Corporate Controller to provide effective internal controls for the organization and ensure compliance.
- Furnishes internal reports, revises and updates reports to be more useful and efficient, and furnishes external reports as necessary.
- Maintains cost accounting system including item masters, standard costs, bill of materials, and routers.
- Supports the sales function by providing cost analysis and data for pricing quotes
- Coordinate physical inventory counts and cycle counts. Investigates inventory variances, resolves issues, and provides reporting and analysis to management.
- Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
- Performs other duties as directed by the Corporate Controller or CFO.
Minimum Qualifications
- BA/BS Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience
- 2 years of experience using ERP / MRP in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent computer skills (ERP and MS Office Professional minimum)
- Excellent communication and relationship skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Motivated, self-directed and able to work independently
