What are the responsibilities and job description for the Press Operator position at Integral Manufacturing?
Growing, privately-owned and operated West Troy is seeking an experienced Press Operator to join our growing team. The Press Operator operates presses to produce stamped parts for assembly or finished goods and is responsible for die set up. This position is responsible for producing a quality stamped part, inspecting the part as it is produced, overseeing that dies are functioning correctly, keeping presses and work area safe and clean, identifying the differences in parts and which coil stock is required to produce which stamping.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Run machine at rate
- Operate presses to produce a quality part
- Keep coolant mixed for presses and at the right levels
- Responsible for having the correct coil stock and loading coil
- Responsible for setting die
- Responsible for quality checks throughout runs
- Having correct packaging, fill with correct quantity and move packages with pallet jacks
- Assemble boxes and place correctly on skid for shrink wrapping
- Make accepted tags for containers with correct information
- Check lube, oil, and grease levels at each machine
- Inspect parts during production and identify suspect parts
- Keep dies clean of metal shavings and bow ties
- Fill out daily time cards and scrap tickets
- Responsible for keeping presses and work area clean & safe
- Follow all safety instructions, work instructions, and Lock Out/Tag Out Program
Skills and Qualifications:
- Must be able to set own dies. Prefer one (1) year experience in setting dies, but will train experienced press operator.
- Demonstrated skill in following work instructions and standard operating procedures
- Willingness and ability to learn

- Able to work in industrial environment, with constant change and shifting priorities
- Able to work independently with minimum supervision
- Demonstrated productivity and quality work
- Demonstrated problem solving with routine problems

- Outstanding record of reliability, dependability and willingness and ability to work weekends and extended hours
- Demonstrated safe work practices and approach
- Experience in manufacturing environment
- Able to regularly lift 3-50 pounds frequently and carry objects consistently throughout the day
- Experience using measurement tools, such as rules, calipers and micrometers
- Forklift certified or become forklift certified within one (1) month
