Job Summary
We are seeking an Electronic Security Technician with 1-2 years of experience to install, service, and maintain security systems, including access control, surveillance (CCTV), and intrusion detection. The ideal candidate has experience working in both residential and small commercial installations and is comfortable with structured cabling and system programming. Alarm.com installation experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electronic security systems (access control, surveillance cameras, and intrusion alarms).
- Perform installations for both residential and small commercial customers.
- Run and terminate low-voltage cabling, including CAT6 and other structured wiring.
- Program and configure security system components, including cloud-based and app-controlled systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Work independently or as part of a team to complete projects efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and company safety guidelines.
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with clients.
- Document installations, service work, and system configurations.
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience installing and servicing electronic security systems.
- Familiarity with residential and small commercial security installations.
- Experience with Alarm.com installations (preferred but not required).
- Basic understanding of networking and IP-based security systems (preferred).
- Ability to use hand and power tools efficiently.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders.
- Willingness to obtain industry certifications (e.g., manufacturer-specific training).
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a background check.
