Job Summary
As an Aquatic Maintenance Technician at Living Waters, you'll be immersed in the world of aquatic care. You'll have the opportunity to maintain and enhance a variety of water features, including lakes, fishing ponds, and water gardens. Your responsibilities will range from cultivating fish and aquatic plants to applying herbicides for nuisance weed and algae control. This entry-level position offers a unique blend of hands-on experience and scientific learning, allowing you to develop a deep understanding of aquatic ecosystems. Responsibilities:
- Maintain and enhance the health and beauty of lakes, ponds, and water gardens.
- Cultivate and care for fish, koi, and aquatic plants.
- Apply herbicides to control nuisance weeds and algae, following all safety regulations and label instructions.
- Test water quality and apply appropriate chemical treatments for optimal water management.
- Assist in cleaning and maintaining koi ponds and water features.
- Contribute to erosion control, bioretention, and landscaping efforts, including prairie restoration projects.
- Operate and maintain equipment, such as boats, vehicles, UTVs, and sprayers.
- Maintain accurate records of all jobs and activities.
- Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues to ensure exceptional service and teamwork.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation
- Ability to drive a large service van
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Strong work ethic with a commitment to accuracy, and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift up to 50 pounds
- A genuine interest in aquatic life and ecosystems
