Position Overview: Trainee/Intern Recruiter
We are currently seeking a motivated individual for our Trainee Recruiter position in the Kansas City area. This role will provide on-the-job training in full-cycle recruiting, encompassing everything from talent sourcing and candidate attraction to interviewing and hiring exceptional individuals. As a Trainee Recruiter, you will work closely with experienced managers to learn how to identify future hiring needs proactively and attract high-quality candidates to serve children with autism.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in designing and implementing a comprehensive recruiting strategy, learning to develop and facilitate all phases of the recruitment process.
- Support the identification and implementation of efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the organization's needs.
- Collaborate with team members to develop and update job descriptions and specifications that accurately reflect the roles we seek to fill.
- Learn to conduct job and task analysis to document job requirements and objectives.
- Help prepare recruitment materials and post job openings on appropriate platforms, including job boards, newspapers, and college job fairs.
- Source and recruit candidates using various platforms, databases, and social media, while documenting efforts in our applicant tracking software or other recruitment systems.
- Screen candidate resumes and applications to help identify suitable candidates.
- Participate in conducting interviews using various reliable recruiting and selection tools/methods to filter candidates effectively within scheduled timeframes.
- Assist in assessing applicants’ relevant knowledge, skills, experience, and aptitudes.
- Support the onboarding process for new employees to ensure they become fully integrated into our team.
- Learn to monitor and apply best practices in HR recruiting.
- Contribute to preparing analytical and well-documented recruiting reports for the team.
- Build relationships with candidates throughout the selection process and act as a point of contact.
- Attend and participate in college job fairs and recruiting sessions to promote our organization and attract talent.
- Assist in promoting our company’s reputation as the "best place to work."
Requirements:
- A passion for pursuing a career in recruitment, with some prior experience in Human Resources, customer service, or a related field preferred, but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a desire to learn effective negotiation tactics.
- An interest in mastering various selection processes, including interviews and reference checks.
- A willingness and ability to engage with HR databases, Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), and Candidate Management Systems (CMS).
- Familiarity with social media platforms for recruiting purposes is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with a desire to learn time management strategies.
- Basic understanding of laws, regulations, and best practices related to hiring and recruitment is helpful, but not required.
- A BS or MS in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent work experience is a plus, but we welcome candidates pursuing their degrees as well.
- Work Environment:
- Provide insights into the future team structure or work environment (hybrid - in office and/or remote)
- Travel 15% throughout the States of Kansas and Missouri (career fairs, recruiting functions, etc)
Performance Metrics for Collaboration Partner Job Openings:
1. Finding qualified candidates per opening
- 8 candidates/month for each Client opening
2. Application completion rate
- 4 applications/month (out of the qualified candidates) for each Client opening
3. Application to phone screen completion rate
- Must complete within 3 days of application entry
4. Application/Phone Screen Deliverance to the Client’s Hiring Manager
- Must deliver within 1 business day
5. Distribution of the DiSC assessment to Applicant if requested by Hiring Manager
- Must have completed assessment back from applicant within 2-3 days and once obtained, will provide results to Hiring Manager within 1 business day
6. Time to hire (from new hire request to offer letter email)
- Must send out offer within 1 business day of new hire request
7. Quality of hire/Hiring Manager Satisfaction
- Based on monthly feedback of hiring manager’s satisfaction (one meeting per month)
