Bilingual Job Coach – Therapeutic Garden
ABOUT YOU
Do you have a passion for gardening and making a difference in people’s lives? Integrated Community Services is seeking a bilingual (Spanish/English) Job Coach to join our Therapeutic Garden Team! In this role, you'll support adults with developmental disabilities and mental health diagnoses as they grow vegetables, flowers and valuable life and work skills in a peaceful, nurturing outdoor setting.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Job Coach, you’ll guide participants in developing soft and hard skills through hands-on gardening tasks. You'll provide individualized coaching on communication, staying focused, accepting feedback, and working effectively with others. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys being outdoors, understands horticulture, and thrives when helping others succeed.
This is a full-time, 32–38 hr per week position, $22-$26/hour DOE. Monday - Friday 8:30am–3:30pm, located in Novato, California.

DUTIES
- Coach and support adults with developmental disabilities and mental health needs in a garden setting
- Plan and assist with planting, cultivating, and harvesting vegetables and flowers
- Model and reinforce appropriate behavior, communication, and teamwork
- Provide feedback and encouragement in a respectful, supportive way
- Maintain accurate documentation and reports on participant progress
- Work closely with staff to create a positive, inclusive environment
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
- Knowledge of vegetable and flower gardening, planting cycles, and garden maintenance
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities, especially in vocational or therapeutic settings
- Reliable, punctual, and professional work habits
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team and adapt to different needs and learning styles
- Valid identification, such as Real ID, driver’s license, or passport, required. A background check will be conducted.
- Preferred:
- Background in horticulture therapy, vocational rehabilitation, or special education
- Knowledge of the SmartCare electronic health record for Medi-Cal (ICS can also provide training)
REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to:
- Lift 20lbs
- Bend, stoop, and kneel
- Stand and walk around the garden intermittently during the shift
- Work outdoors and tolerate changes in weather
- Walk on uneven terrain
