The VP, Corporate Controller will oversee the financial activities of the company. As head of the accounting department, the VP, Corporate Controller will manage and supervise all aspects of accounting, audit, cash management and tax compliance. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the VP, Corporate Controller will assist with development of internal control policies, procedures, and financial planning as needed. This is an important position as our accountants serve both internally and externally by communicating with our many physician practices and our executive leadership.
This position will require travel to our corporate headquarters located in Boca Raton, FL, estimated at 1x/month.
Job Description
- Manage all aspects of accounting, including financial statements (internal & external), general ledger, accounts receivables & payables, inventory, budgeting, tax, and various special projects.
- Develop, improve and issue timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for both internal and external use.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Oversee payments on all accounts; ensure that all accounts are paid on time and have adequate controls to prevent duplicate payments.
- Monitor cash and funding balances.
- Assist in software selection and implementation.
- Manage annual audit.
- Manage and mentor the accounting staff.
- Additional projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- Active CPA License preferred (If no CPA, Master’s Degree and Healthcare Provider Experience required)
- 5 to 10 years of supervisory experience
- Public accounting experience preferred
- Experience reporting on multisite entities and complex intercompany transactions
- Experience on cash basis and accrual reporting a plus
- Experience with purchase accounting, fair value and integrating acquisitions
- Excellent computer skills (NetSuite or other ERP & Excel)
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Analytical ability to develop and implement improvements
- Ability to establish and meet deadlines and plans
- Self-motivated and self-directed with ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
