Our Technology Research Center helps the world's leading energy, power, and industrial companies solve their most critical surface engineering-related problems, improve coating and welding techniques, and evaluate material performance.
General Purpose of the Position :
- Ensure IGS is in compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and procedures as per OSHA, EPA, state environmental agencies, IGS Inc, and client specific HSE requirements. Implements HSE policies, standards and programs while ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory, customer and IGS specific requirements.
- Provides field safety support locally and internationally to ensure IGS safety and health objectives are met. Position focus on ensuring the safety of all IGS personnel on customer sites and IGS work locations globally. Trains or ensures all personnel have received required health and safety training. Support customer relations and communication regarding HSE elements. Support site management in HSE reporting. Understand IGS product and service offerings and how they relate to solving metal wastage problems for customer equipment and processes.
- Provides administrative and training support to HSE function - contractor management system compliance tasks, customer HSE prequalification tasks, delivery of HSE training, coordinating of client-required HSE training and site orientations, and compiling of HSE reporting data through IGS's HSE software.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Accountable for supporting on site management in ensuring that site operations are conducted in a safe manner and in accordance with all IGS and customer specific safety standards and proceduresPerforms all reporting and administrative tasks in an expedient and accurate mannerConduct is professional at all times through personal adherence and coaching of Team Leaders in the use of IGS Values (the IGS Way)Ensure implementation and compliance across the company of behavior-based safety platformServe as onsite HSE Site Supervisor on projects for all product lines in North America with occasional support of global projectsEnsure compliance with all pertinent health and safety regulations in a cost-effective mannerExemplify company's commitment to health and safety by exhibiting a highly professional demeanor in all situationsAssist in the development of risk profiles for exposures with a potential to significantly impact the companySupport the IGS safety training program. Conduct training as needed. Maintain training records and ensures employees are scheduled and receive training as required. Coordinates with HR to ensure employee training is tracked in appropriate systems.Administer safety programs in support of management strategies with the primary goal of reducing injury and illnessServe as a resource for all employees, including international subsidiaries, to ensure all work is completed in compliance with regulatory requirementsProvide direction to Operations through direct interaction with leadership team and field operations management personnelCommunicate and implement practices, procedures and program to keep IGS in compliance with applicable health and safety laws & regulationsActively manage safety incidents and accident investigations including the coordination of medical care, workers' compensation and counsels with IGS personnel involved in incidentsCoordinates with management and HR to ensure appropriate disciplinary actions are documented, tracked and delivered to the employeeCoordinate with HR to ensure new hires receive required medical exams and safety training is scheduled.Conducts new hire safety training and participates in other new hire onboarding activities as needed.Ensure employees receive onsite customer required safety training prior to site mobilization. Coordinates with operations, HR and customer to determine training needs and document / track training upon completionInvestigate and take appropriate actions concerning employee requests, complaints and concerns involving unsafe conditions / practices and near missesAssist in the coordination and monitoring of the selection, training and use of personal protection equipmentProvide support and assistance during audit processes. Includes conducting onsite and program audits on IGS policies, procedures and programs, facilitating customer audits and / or approvals, and auditing vendors, suppliers and sub-contractorsCreate and prepare site specific safety files as per client requirementsConduct and track fit testing as neededDevelop safety toolbox topics, communications and conduct safety toolbox meetingsManage safety equipment inspection process (fire extinguishers, harnesses, confined space monitors, fork lifts, drop cords, etc.)Support the job hazard safety analysis process. Ensure JHSAs are created and communicated to personnel and conduct training as neededConduct IGS workshop safety walkthroughs (both locally and internationally) and ensure operational management team conducts walkthroughsProvide support for Alcohol and Drug Free Workplace programProvide support and assistance to department with administrative tasks such as recordkeeping, tracking and reporting of metrics, monitoring of workers' compensation claims, medical examinations, emergency action plans, and bid proposal reviews.Manage IGS accounts for multiple contractor management systems (e.g. ISNetworld, Avetta, etc.)Other duties as assignedSkills and Abilities Required :

Job is performed in a challenging environment in various client facilities which includes but are not limited to refineries, paper mills chemical plants, and power plants in the United States and International locationsDifficult working conditions characterized by long hours with 12 hour shiftsWork on project sites is often performed in full personal protective equipmentExtensive travel (4-6 Months), locally and internationally, to customer locations, job sites, international offices and affiliates, is required - most projects are 1-6 weeks in durationJob sites and customer locations could involve moderate degree of hazardous work conditions including exposure to extreme temperatures, work at heights and exposure to hazardous chemicalsHigh level of physical activity in the field including, walking, climbing, lifting and working in confined spaces and off of scaffoldingIn office attendance is required for this positionEducation and Experience Required :
