What are the responsibilities and job description for the Magnet School Nurse RN position at Integrated Health Service, LLC?
POSITION SUMMARY: Provides comprehensive school health services for all students and maintain their school records.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: The School Nurse reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Maintain current health records emergency medical information on all students as directed by state regulations
2. Implement screening programs for vision, hearing, height, weight, and posture.
3. Develop an individual nursing care plan to meet the cultural, educational, emotional, mental physical needs of the student.
5. Dispense proscribed student medication with orders from their Doctor and instruct teacher(s) when necessary in the proper administration of the medication.
6. Attend team meetings when indicated by the student’s individual needs including PPT’s.
7. Lift/restrain students when necessary.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education Associate/Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing.
Licensure/Registration/ Current Connecticut Registered Nurse License
Job Related Experience Prior experience, preferably specific to prospective service setting/level of care/ age specific population preferred. Within the past three years
On the Job Training 3 months
· Ability to function independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team essential
· Familiarity with Abuse and Neglect reporting mandates desirable
· Knowledge of Community based resources desirable
