Salary Range: 21 To 24.60 (USD) Hourly
POSITION SUMMARYUnder supervision, to admit and register patients, coordinate financial aspects of the patient’s hospitalization, cashiering and to do other related work required.CLASS CHARATERISTICSIncumbent in this class works without close supervision and within a framework of established procedures and is expected to perform with only occasional instructions or assistance. Incumbent may have frequent contact with other facility’s departments, which requires him/her to have knowledge of the policies related to the operation of the Admitting Unit.POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way would be: Experience:Six months to one year of clerical experience in a healthcare setting, or related medical environment preferred.Education:Completion of high school or equivalent.KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIESKnowledge of:Principles of computer control systems and modern office methodsBasic concepts of admitting, billing and collection language and procedures.Fundamentals of key-disk data entry systemsAS 400 terminal use and operation.Ability to:Effectively communicate both orally and in writing to individuals and groupsEstablish rapport with and maintain cooperative, productive working relationships with staff, volunteers, groups, and the communityEstablish and maintain necessary records and controls prepare reports, charts and correspondenceOperate AS400 system, CRT, PC, Fax, photocopier and PBXObtain and record accurate informationPatient Access Rep/Admitting/Per Diem/Evening/10 hours
