Bilingual HR Generalist Job Summary :

Provide administrative support for the Human Resources Department in all functional areas of HR. This role requires bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.

Bilingual HR Generalist Responsibilities :

  • Partner with the HR team to oversee the recruiting and new hire onboarding process, including resume prescreening, interviews, offer letters, pre-employment screening, and new hire orientation.
  • Oversee various HR activities, such as offboarding, exit interviews, unemployment claims, all levels of leaves, and assist with HR projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Track and submit staffing reports for variable workforce (new hire fulfillment of minimum days on the job).
  • Conduct employee investigations and alternative dispute resolution cases.
  • Assist with employee engagement and recognition activities to promote retention and reduce turnover.
  • Provide consultation and coaching to employees at all levels (management to non-management) on HR practices and processes, as well as utilizing conflict resolution techniques to ensure team cohesion.
  • Assist with hard copy and electronic records; scan documents; maintain personnel records.
  • Partner effectively with management to deliver high-quality, seamlessly integrated operational HR support for the business.
  • Process employee changes such as promotions, transfers, and terminations, and maintain accurate employee data in the HRIS.
  • Assist with benefits enrollment and inquiries.
  • Promote a positive work environment through employee engagement initiatives and communication strategies.
  • Perform other HR-related duties as assigned.

Bilingual HR Generalist Knowledge & Experience :

  • High School Diploma or GED required. A college degree or relevant certification is a plus.
  • 3-5 years of related work experience.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (required).
  • Working knowledge of local, state, and federal human resources practices and compliance regulations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and HRIS (ADP preferred).
  • Strong multitasking skills; team player who works well under pressure.
  • Maintain high confidentiality and exercise discretion and tolerance toward difficult situations.
  • Skills / Qualifications :

  • Ability to compose correspondence independently based on company policy and procedure.
  • Ability to gather data, analyze, and recommend resolutions for team member concerns for management review; experience with the escalation process.
  • Strong attention to detail, grammar, punctuation, and spelling on all forms of correspondence.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of management and staff as well as outside vendors and clients, promoting respect, credibility, and integrity.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and work within assigned deadlines.
  • Must be able to quickly learn and apply company policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Must be able to successfully interpret, apply, and explain company policies to team members.
  • Ability to comply with and promote company safety guidelines.
  • Work Environment :

  • This position is located in an office environment but requires navigating outside of the office building to neighboring locations. Tasks may include :
  • Using keys to lock / unlock cabinets, postal boxes, key boxes, and doors.
  • Using badges to scan access through secure doors.
  • Carrying a backpack, boxes, or correspondence such as bundles of mail to / from building locations.
  • Work Schedule :

    Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week on a mid-shift, with flexibility for overtime as needed.

    Physical Demands :

  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
  • Must be able to sit and work for long periods of time at a computer workstation.
  • Must be able to bend or stoop as needed for filing, unpacking uniforms from boxes, etc.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 pounds up / down stairways, in / out of vehicles, and across a 10-minute crosswalk.
  • Must be able to navigate between work locations using a company vehicle; enter / exit security turnstiles or gates / doorways, crosswalks, high-traffic areas, stairs, and production floors containing moving automated guided vehicles (AGVs), forklifts, racking systems, and secure pathways.
  • Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, a hard hat or bump cap, protective sleeves, and a safety vest.
