ILC is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to oversee the daily operations of our pharmacy. The PIC will be responsible for ensuring the pharmacy complies with all state and federal regulations, managing staff, maintaining inventory, and providing exceptional patient care. This leadership role requires strong clinical knowledge, organizational skills, and a commitment to operational excellence and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure full compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations, including DEA and Board of Pharmacy requirements.
- Supervise and manage all pharmacy staff, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support staff.
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations, ensuring accurate and timely dispensing of medications.
- Maintain proper documentation, reporting, and inventory controls.
- Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality assurance protocols.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and patients to optimize therapeutic outcomes and provide counseling.
- Conduct staff training, performance evaluations, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Respond to audits, inspections, and regulatory inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure the pharmacy is adequately stocked and that inventory is managed to minimize waste and expiration.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, clinical developments, and legislative changes.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Active and unrestricted pharmacist license in Nebraska.
- Minimum 5 years of pharmacy experience, including 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role (preferred).
- Strong understanding of pharmacy law, inventory control, and quality assurance processes.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with pharmacy management systems and technology.
