Job Summary:
The Inbound Receiving Inspector will be responsible for inspecting all incoming materials and components to ensure they meet quality standards and are suitable for use in the manufacturing of hoists, end trucks, gearing, gearboxes, load blocks, and related equipment. This role requires attention to detail, knowledge of quality control processes, and proficiency in using measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect incoming parts, materials, and components for accuracy, compliance with specifications, and quality standards.
- Utilize micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments to assess part dimensions and tolerances.
- Verify and document materials and components against purchase orders and engineering specifications.
- Perform visual and physical inspections for defects, damages, and irregularities.
- Maintain accurate records of incoming inspections, including reports on non-conforming materials and parts.
- Work closely with the purchasing department, vendors, and manufacturing teams to resolve any quality issues with incoming materials.
- Ensure that incoming goods are appropriately tagged and stored for easy access and inventory control.
- Assist in maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the receiving area.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Report any discrepancies or quality concerns to the Quality Assurance department and management.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (associate’s degree or technical certification preferred).
- Proven experience as an inbound receiving inspector in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with hoists, end trucks, gearing, gearboxes, load blocks, and related manufacturing components.
- Proficiency in using measuring instruments, including micrometers and calipers.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and quality control standards in a manufacturing setting.
Additional Skills and Experience (Preferred):
- Experience working in the manufacturing of hoists, end trucks, gearboxes, or similar industrial equipment.
- Familiarity with inventory management software and documentation tools.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 or other quality management standards.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to [X] pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, and inspect materials for extended periods.
- Capability to work in a warehouse or manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
